S$25 billion five-year R&D plan, with AI designated as a priority investment area.

The RIE2025 plan covers 2021-2025 with a total commitment of S$25 billion — the largest R&D investment in Singapore's history. Four strategic domains: Manufacturing, Trade and Connectivity; Human Health and Potential; Urban Solutions and Sustainability and Smart Nation; and Digital Economy. AI runs across all domains as a core enabling technology. The plan supports national AI research programmes such as AI Singapore and funds AI talent development, fundamental research, and industrial applications.
