Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: Increasing Language Representation in Southeast Asia

The third Southeast Asian Languages Summit, co-hosted by AI Singapore with Google and VISTEC and held in Bangkok (the first time outside Singapore), convening regional experts and researchers around language representation for Southeast Asia in AI.

The summit announced SEA-LION v2, Project SEALD, SEACrowd, and the upcoming Project Aquarium community data platform—directly advancing Southeast Asian multilingual LLMs and regional high-quality data—alongside discussions on LLM development, data accessibility, and copyright.

Led by AI Singapore, the summit is a flagship expression of Singapore’s role—via the SEA-LION series—as the regional hub for Southeast Asian multilingual AI, exporting its model and data infrastructure across the regional ecosystem.
