Razer
Razer is a gaming technology company with Singapore as one of its dual headquarters. It established an AI Centre of Excellence in 2025, which currently hosts more than 100 engineers, data scientists, and researchers in Singapore. In August 2026 it formed a joint AI research lab with NUS and introduced Gaming Artificial Narrow Intelligence (GANI) as a research direction connecting core models, real-time game content, and personalised experiences.
📖 What it is
Razer's Singapore AI presence has two layers:
- AI Centre of Excellence: builds a local AI engineering and research team for game-development tools and player-experience products
- Razer–NUS AI Research Lab: researches GANI, focusing on core model innovation, real-time content systems, and advanced personalisation
The joint lab follows a research-to-translation model, allowing outputs to feed into Razer products and development systems.
🤖 Relation to AI
Razer elevates gaming AI from isolated tools into a dedicated research direction. GANI emphasises models constrained by game environments that can respond in real time and personalise continuously, a distinct role from general-purpose foundation models.
🇸🇬 Relation to Singapore
The partnership connects a Singapore gaming company, university research, and local AI jobs in one translation pipeline — a concrete vertical-industry landing point for the national AI strategy.
