  • Organisers cast students as the tip of the spear leading the AI frontier, urging them to bring classmates along.

Summary

Singapore brought home two gold medals from the inaugural International AI Olympiad. This year's National AI Olympiad continues that pipeline, extending AI Singapore's generational capability programme from foundation to frontier and from young to old.

Students said they joined because they genuinely enjoy programming and AI and wanted to push beyond textbook theory into how AI solves real problems. Remember that when you go out and represent Singapore, you hold that flag and you do our best for Singapore. Last year, we selected and trained two national team for the inaugural international Olympia EI and they did us proud bring back two gold medal. This year I'm back to take on the NAI challenge again. NAI is a place where talent and opportunity meets. We add another chapter to our generational AI capability development programs from AI Singapore developing local talents from young to old from foundation to frontier. I joined NOAI because well my CK is infocom which has cultivated a passion for programming and AI in me. It helped to broaden my visions regarding the AI, get hands-on with some of the AI concepts from where I could truly like push myself to the limits and test all of my skills.

I wanted to challenge myself to think deeper about these technologies and learn new things and see how AI is applied in practice beyond the theory that we do. It's more than just a buzz word in tech. It's a field that's transforming how we solve real world problems. AI is still an ongoing growing landscape. There's still more to grow on. So I definitely don't expect the competition to be easy. The competition opens door to further competitions, to undergraduate programs, to research, and to many opportunities in Singapore's AI ecosystem. Don't do AI just for the competition. Explore it because you genuinely enjoy it and let your curiosity guide you. I came to this competition for the fun of it. It's really my passion and something I really love. Get your classmates, get your friends to be interested in AI. Teach them tools.

Unravel what's behind the black box. See yourself as the tip of the spear leading this particular frontier. You are charged with a particular responsibility and this is your challenge going ahead. The road to international Olympia in AI begins here.
