很高興出席 One Univers 及其合作伙伴主辦的 Global AI Impact Lab 啟動儀式。
AI 與能源不僅僅是流行詞彙。這是兩股正在重塑世界、變革產業的強大力量。正是這兩大全球趨勢，將使未來大相徑庭。
在新加坡，我們正在推動經濟轉型，以順應這一變革浪潮。
本週也是新加坡國際能源周，負責能源及科學技術事務的部長陳詩龍先生昨日介紹了多個令人振奮的專案，包括裕廊島將如何轉型為綠色技術與綠色能源的創新樞紐，其中涵蓋資料中心。
這是新加坡為實現淨零排放目標、履行應對氣候變化承諾所作努力的一部分。
這也體現了我們為產業、企業和勞動者創造新機遇的雄心。
今天，我們正式啟動 Global AI Impact Lab，匯聚了致力於能源與 AI 領域的生態系統合作伙伴。
這正是我們為經濟所尋求的轉型方向——在推動經濟綠色化的同時，充分發揮 AI 的力量。
我認為我們目前只是略觸皮毛，數字化與 AI 所蘊含的潛力還遠未得到充分挖掘。
這不僅僅關乎如何運用技術，我們採用的方式同等重要，甚至更為重要。這正是合作精神與開放式創新的體現。
當前，世界各地的經濟體與政府正紛紛轉向內顧。一些國家變得更加民族主義化和保護主義化。
回顧60年前新加坡獨立之初，新興獨立國家普遍奉行的經濟邏輯是封閉市場、保護本國產業，因為它們在自身的產業中擁有既得利益。
新加坡反其道而行之——我們選擇開放。為什麼？因為我們體量太小，我們深知成為充滿活力的經濟體，命運在於與世界保持緊密聯絡、持續相關。因此，我們與世界各地的夥伴攜手合作，匯聚最優秀的理念、最優秀的企業和最優秀的人才，為我們的人民創造價值、就業機會和發展空間。
在經濟轉型的下一階段，我們必須改變、適應，並將事情做得更好。
但與此同時，我們也必須繼續堅守那些行之有效的做法——開放的理念以及與利益相關方協作的精神。這個專案再次印證了這一點，它匯聚了不同生態系統中價值鏈的各個環節，共同協作、共同創新，同時創造新的機遇。新加坡希望繼續成為此類創新的合作伙伴。這不僅僅是關於採用技術，更在於與夥伴和志同道合的利益相關方攜手創新，開發對新加坡及世界多個領域有價值的新理念。
我期待在未來數年中湧現出更多理念與令人振奮的新專案，彰顯綠色與數字經濟的機遇，並鞏固新的夥伴關係，共同創造既適用於新加坡、也惠及世界其他地方的理念與創新。

Ladies and gentlemen
I am happy to be here for the launch of the Global AI Impact Lab for One Univers and partners.
AI and energy are not just buzzwords. These are two powerful forces that are reshaping the world and transforming industries. The future will be very different because of these two global trends.
In Singapore, we are transforming our economy to ride this wave of change.
This week is also the Singapore International Energy Week, and the Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science and Technology, Mr Tan See Leng spoke about a number of exciting projects yesterday, including how Jurong Island will be transformed into an innovation hub for green technology and green energy, including data centres.
This is part of Singapore's effort to meet our net-zero ambition and commitment towards climate change.
It also reflects our ambition to create new opportunities for industries, businesses and our workers.
Today, we are launching the Global AI Impact Lab that brings together ecosystem partners working on energy and AI.
It exemplifies the kind of transformation we are looking at for our economy, greening our economy and the same time, harnessing the power of AI.
I think we are just scratching the surface, and there is a lot more potential to harness the power of digitalisation and AI.
It is not just about harnessing technology, but the way we do so will be equally important, if not more important. That is the spirit of partnership and open innovation.
Now is a time where economies and governments around the world are turning inwards. Some become more nativist and protectionist.
If you look back at the time when Singapore became independent 60 years ago, the prevailing economic logic for newly independent nations was to close off its markets and protect its industries because they have vested interest in their own businesses.
Singapore did the opposite – we opened up. Why? Because we are too small, and we knew that our fate to being a vibrant economy lies with being connected and relevant to the world. So, we work with partners from around the world, tapping on the best ideas, best companies and the best talent to create value, jobs and opportunities for our people.
In the next phase of economic transformation, we must change, adapt and do things better.
But at the same time, we must also continue to preserve what has worked well for us – the sense of openness and working with stakeholders. This project again exemplifies that, by bringing together different parts of the value chain across different ecosystems, to collaborate and innovate together while creating new opportunities. Singapore wants to continue to be a partner to such innovations. It is not just about adopting technology, but working with partners and like-minded stakeholders to innovate and develop new ideas that are useful for Singapore and the world in many sectors.
I look forward to many ideas and exciting new projects in the coming years that exemplify the opportunities of a green and digital economy, and cement new partnerships to create ideas and innovations that work for Singapore as well as for the rest of the world.
