AI & National Security

Defence AI, cybersecurity and critical infrastructure — how AI is used, and contained, in the security domain.

For Singapore, AI is both a new tool of national security and a new threat surface. On one side sit defence and cyber-defence — MINDEF and DSTA applying AI to situational awareness and decision-making, and the Cyber Security Agency (CSA) guarding critical infrastructure; on the other sit foreign interference and information manipulation, met with levers such as the Foreign Interference (Countermeasures) Act (FICA). For a small state, using AI well while containing its risks is the core security question.

This hub gathers every parliamentary debate on AI and national security, the related policies and ministerial statements — from defence AI, cybersecurity and critical infrastructure to foreign interference, deepfakes and information resilience — so you can see where Singapore draws the line between “make use of it” and “guard against it,” and how MPs interrogate the boundaries and accountability.
